transition from year 8 into year 9
Bass Coast College is excited to welcome students into Year 9. The upcoming year will be one that challenges students to move outside of their comfort zone to find their own best personal growth. Outside of the classroom, this will be achieved through extra curricula activities such as camps and day trips which focus on respectful relationships and leadership skills. Our picturesque geographical landscape allows our College to have opportunities that link our Year 9 students to the community and environment. It’s not uncommon to see our students out in the surf, fishing or paddling a canoe within our Recreational Activities Program, or at a forshore or wetlands completing a practical experiment during science. The students will also have opportunities to improve and shape our environment during tree planting and coast clean up days. We look forward to getting to know alls tudents throught the year on learning.
The College provides leadership opportunities such as Campus, Sports, Library, and House Leaders and also offers additional leadership opportunities such as being selected to attend Snowy River Leadership Camp for a term. Within the school we challenge to envisage the types of healthy realationships that create a healthy community, and we facilitate the growth of our Year 9 cohort role modelling these beahviours within our school community. All Year 9 students are given oportunities to delevop their leadership capabilities and engage further within the school and broader community.
